    Judi Hausman

    Judi Hausmann is the founder and CEO of The Hausmann Group, an independent public relations and marketing communications group which she established in 1990.

    After working in top London consumer PR consultancies in the 1980’s, Judi was astonished to return to Australia and find that consumer PR was unheard of here. So she did what any self respecting 28 year old with loads of creative flair, a huge passion for brands and lots of energy and entrepreneurial nous would do – she started her own!

    Since that time, Hausmann has grown in size and reputation to become one of Asia-Pacific’s most respected and innovative marketing communications agencies with a staff of 50 and an enviable list of clients including Procter & Gamble, Sony, Specsavers, AMP and DHL.

    As well as Hausmann Communications, the group also includes Health Haus, a specialist healthcare PR agency which was founded in 2010 and The Hausmann School of Public Relations (HSPR) which is again breaking new ground as the only PR industry initiated Registered Training Organisation to provide nationally recognised qualifications.

    In her spare time Judi is a Trustee of the Sydney Theatre Company and supports a wide range of charities and arts organisations. Last year, in conjunction with local NGO Mahboba’s Promise, she founded Judi’s Shelter in Afghanistan which is a refuge for widows and children in war-torn Kabul. She is also part owner of a small and very exclusive Haute Couture and furniture company based in Paris.

In Australia he has been Managing Director of Rapp Collins, M&C Saatchi and now heads up Clemenger BBDO Sydney.     Vijay Solanki

    Vijay has a 24 year history in marketing, digital marketing & innovation.He started his career at Unilever after graduating in Psychology.  His first brand manager role was for Dove where he launched new products, developed new packaging and advertising including Dove’s first interactive work.  Vijay also completed both sales roles and European Innovation roles.

    Vijay spent time running marketing for media companies Global Radio and Time Inc.  He developed brand strategies, consumer segmentation, building marketing partnerships and developing websites that helped grow market share and drive the P&L.

    Vijay then moved into start-up as Shazam’s first marketing director launching the brand very cost-effectively in the UK and 3 other countries using digital, guerrilla marketing and PR.

    Then Vijay held regional and global roles.  First at BP/Castrol, running Marketing Services and taking Castrol into global soccer sponsorship with a digital-led strategy that grew brand metrics & sales.  He also ran digital marketing for BlackBerry over-hauling the websites and building its first social media program.

    More recently, Vijay held global roles for Philips in Amsterdam.  First running digital marketing building a search and social program alongside a global digital capability program.  Vijay then was part of a new digital innovation division building software driven products and a digital transformation program.

    In Australia, Vijay became Chief Digital Officer at Southern Cross Austereo growing revenue by 20%, building a new data strategy and new products as well as delivering a transformation program.

    Vijay joined the IAB Australia as CEO in July 2016.  With its new mission to simplify & inspire, the IAB leads the way in audience & revenue measurement as well as being the lead voice in key topics likes programmatic, viewability, video & mobile.

    The irony of being overweight, under-tall and follically challenged in an industry where personal presentation can be factor in success is not lost on me. Despite these odds I have found that I am good at what I do – the recruitment of high calibre marketing professionals.

    I was seduced into recruitment when Michael Page used to offer Golf Gti’s to starters and lucky for me I fell into a career I enjoyed. From behemoth to start up, I moved to the fledgling competitor, EMR and enjoyed 12 years helping to build a business with some truly inspirational colleagues to the point of UK market leader.

    An internal transfer to launch the business in Australia proved a mixed blessing when Lehman Brothers went bang in late 2008. Suddenly I was in paradise without a job! At this point I discovered my resilient streak and after a couple of challenging years I was lucky enough to find The SR Group and joined them in September 2012 in order to launch the Carter Murray business in Australia.

    Now, with over 25 years’ experience of recruiting marketing professionals for all types of businesses in the UK and Australia I would like to think that I infuse the business with a wealth of experience, knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm. I am growing a team of like-minded professionals who take pride in putting great talent into aspirational and ambitious businesses.

    Katherine is the Director of Communications & Customer Experience at Australia’s largest marketing association, the Association for Data-driven Marketing & Advertising (ADMA) where she is responsible for the overall communications and personalised, customer experience strategy and execution, the ADMA brand and all internal and external communications including digital, social and PR.

    Katherine’s experience encompasses both established and start-up, commercial and not-for-profit companies including the Sydney Symphony, Lesson Zone and the Australian Trade Commission.  Prior to ADMA, Katherine spent more than seven years as Head of Group Marketing for SBS, Australia’s national multilingual and multicultural broadcaster, where she was responsible for all marketing communications for SBS programs and services. While at SBS she managed large internal and external agency teams to achieve award-winning, highly-effective campaigns that engaged audiences and stakeholders. Her achievements include the launch of the now iconic SBS brand refresh ‘Six billion stories and counting…’ and the launch of SBS’s digital platform SBS ON DEMAND as well as the establishment of connected communities for SBS content areas.  

    Having grown up in Minnesota, USA where she completed both a Bachelor’s Degree and an MBA, Katherine is a dual American/Australian citizen and regularly returns to her home state to connect with family and friends. Cathy has over 20 years’ experience in the Finance, Superannuation and Consumer Services sectors holding roles at the most senior levels of McDonalds Australia, BNP Paribas, CBA, Qantas, NRMA and Perpetual where she had the P and L responsibility for the Equities team, and their clients with over $16 billion in FUM.   

    Cathy has an extensive track record of delivering best practice HR and business change management strategies across complex and dynamic workforces, where she has been instrumental in lifting employee engagement, employment brand and workforce satisfaction levels and improving the customer experience.

    With strong links to Australia’s corporate governance and philanthropic communities, Cathy is a founding board member and Membership Director of the International Women’s Forum Australia, former Chair of drug and alcohol charity, Odyssey House and is currently Non-Executive Director of both Ambition Limited and Mason Stevens Group.

    Emma Hogan

    Emma joined Foxtel in 2007, and for 7 years held the role of Executive Director – People & Culture before taking on the role of Executive Director – Customer Experience Group in early 2015.  In both positions, Emma sat on the Executive, and in her customer position, lead a team of over 3000 internal and contract employees based in Australia, Manila, India and South Africa and was responsible for the post sales customer experience, including planning, supply chain, transformation, Installations, Contact Centres and the Digital experience as it related to service.  

    Emma holds post graduate qualifications in HR & Business Management, and graduated from Stanford University’s residential Executive Program in 2013.  Em is also a non executive director on the boards of the Cantoo Foundation and AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience).  Emma also enjoys working in the not-for-profit sector and in 2010/2011 raised $220,000 for charity through her initiative – The Amazing People Project, and has since established her own charity foundation called Rainbow Jane which distributes funds to causes associated with dignity, equality or solving company problems.

    My Marketing Academy journey is a story of two paths that merged.

    Path one started in October 2009 in Sydney, when I mentored Arron Child on a journey to change the marketing world. Through mentoring Arron, he decided to move to London and he was selected to be a Marketing Academy Scholar in 2013.

    Since then Arron has gone from Marketing Manager at Microsoft to running his own amazing marketing agency Conjura.

    Path two, starts with me as part of a graduate recruitment team at Microsoft in August 2009. After a 4 hours standing with over 400 undergraduate students looking at career options, it was impossible to have a quality career discussion.

    I thought there has to be a better way and I created Microsoft Protégé.

    An experiential learning environment for Generation Y to gain insights and skills while working on a real world project. Over 6 months, Protégé transformed the next generation of marketing talent to explore a career in technology.

    Today, Protégé is in its 5th year and Protégé graduates run Protégé for the following year. As a result, they learn how to do their day jobs and they learn what it takes to be the trans-disciplinary leaders of the future.

    So in 2013, when I spoke to Arron Child, he urged me to help to bring The Marketing Academy to Australia. Thanks to Sherilyn’s vision and passion it’s now a reality.

    The two paths are now one.

    For the last 30 years, I’ve been a leader in sales, marketing and operational roles in professional services, technology and telecommunications organisations.

    I’ve coached, mentored and spoken about how to get to their results faster utilising clarity to create change.
