    Judi Hausmann is the founder and CEO of The Hausmann Group, an independent public relations and marketing communications group which she established in 1990.

    After working in top London consumer PR consultancies in the 1980’s, Judi was astonished to return to Australia and find that consumer PR was unheard of here. So she did what any self respecting 28 year old with loads of creative flair, a huge passion for brands and lots of energy and entrepreneurial nous would do – she started her own!

    Since that time, Hausmann has grown in size and reputation to become one of Asia-Pacific’s most respected and innovative marketing communications agencies with a staff of 50 and an enviable list of clients including Procter & Gamble, Sony, Specsavers, AMP and DHL.

    As well as Hausmann Communications, the group also includes Health Haus, a specialist healthcare PR agency which was founded in 2010 and The Hausmann School of Public Relations (HSPR) which is again breaking new ground as the only PR industry initiated Registered Training Organisation to provide nationally recognised qualifications.

    In her spare time Judi is a Trustee of the Sydney Theatre Company and supports a wide range of charities and arts organisations. Last year, in conjunction with local NGO Mahboba’s Promise, she founded Judi’s Shelter in Afghanistan which is a refuge for widows and children in war-torn Kabul. She is also part owner of a small and very exclusive Haute Couture and furniture company based in Paris.

    The irony of being overweight, under-tall and follically challenged in an industry where personal presentation can be factor in success is not lost on me. Despite these odds I have found that I am good at what I do – the recruitment of high calibre marketing professionals.

    I was seduced into recruitment when Michael Page used to offer Golf Gti’s to starters and lucky for me I fell into a career I enjoyed. From behemoth to start up, I moved to the fledgling competitor, EMR and enjoyed 12 years helping to build a business with some truly inspirational colleagues to the point of UK market leader.

    An internal transfer to launch the business in Australia proved a mixed blessing when Lehman Brothers went bang in late 2008. Suddenly I was in paradise without a job! At this point I discovered my resilient streak and after a couple of challenging years I was lucky enough to find The SR Group and joined them in September 2012 in order to launch the Carter Murray business in Australia.

    Now, with over 25 years’ experience of recruiting marketing professionals for all types of businesses in the UK and Australia I would like to think that I infuse the business with a wealth of experience, knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm. I am growing a team of like-minded professionals who take pride in putting great talent into aspirational and ambitious businesses.

    My Marketing Academy journey is a story of two paths that merged.

    Path one started in October 2009 in Sydney, when I mentored Arron Child on a journey to change the marketing world. Through mentoring Arron, he decided to move to London and he was selected to be a Marketing Academy Scholar in 2013.

    Since then Arron has gone from Marketing Manager at Microsoft to running his own amazing marketing agency Conjura.

    Path two, starts with me as part of a graduate recruitment team at Microsoft in August 2009. After a 4 hours standing with over 400 undergraduate students looking at career options, it was impossible to have a quality career discussion.

    I thought there has to be a better way and I created Microsoft Protégé.

    An experiential learning environment for Generation Y to gain insights and skills while working on a real world project. Over 6 months, Protégé transformed the next generation of marketing talent to explore a career in technology.

    Today, Protégé is in its 5th year and Protégé graduates run Protégé for the following year. As a result, they learn how to do their day jobs and they learn what it takes to be the trans-disciplinary leaders of the future.

    So in 2013, when I spoke to Arron Child, he urged me to help to bring The Marketing Academy to Australia. Thanks to Sherilyn’s vision and passion it’s now a reality.

    The two paths are now one.

    For the last 30 years, I’ve been a leader in sales, marketing and operational roles in professional services, technology and telecommunications organisations.

    I’ve coached, mentored and spoken about how to get to their results faster utilising clarity to create change.

    Sherilyn is the Founder and CEO of The Marketing Academy a unique non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of leadership talent in the world of marketing & advertising. She launched the Academy in the UK in 2010 and in Australia in 2014.

    She is a Director of Plant for Peace and Trustee of its Foundation, a global organisation bringing peace, food security and sustainable income to post conflict countries such as Afghanistan through the creation of horticultural cooperatives.

    Sherilyn spent 25 years in Executive Search and Talent Management and is the former owner and CEO of Highfield Human Solutions of which she remains a Non Exec. She also served 8 years on the Global Board of IMD International Search Group.

    She is driven by the single belief that ‘every person has the ability to achieve something truly exceptional’.

    Karine Philppe

    Karine is an Executive Search Professional with 20 years of experience in two premier global executive search firms. Based in Sydney, she is a member of the Boards and CEO Succession Practice of Spencer Stuart.

    Karine has placed senior executives and non-executives across many sectors including consumer, industrial and life sciences, working at the highest levels of client organisations.

    Before joining Spencer Stuart in 2015, Karine worked for Heidrick & Struggles in Sydney and London from 2000 to 2015. She brings strong international experience combined with a deep knowledge of the Australian market.   

    Karine holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Bordeaux, France. Parts of her degrees were completed with partner Universities in the UK and Spain.

    A dual citizen of France and Australia, Karine is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She lives on Sydney’s lower north shore with her husband and two children.

    Annie Parker

    Annie is a startup ecosystem and community leader.  She’s built 10+ accelerator programs globally with deep knowledge of startup communities across Europe and Australasia.
    She’s invested in hundreds of startups through these programs and has lost count of how many entrepreneurs she’s worked with over the years.Annie joins Microsoft in March 2018 to take on the role of Global Head of Startups, based out of Sydney.Most recently, Annie was interim CEO of Fishburners, the first and largest startup co-working space in Australia, with offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Shanghai.  Since its founding in 2011, Fishburners has seen over 1,000 companies starting up and helped to support the education of thousands of entrepreneurs.  Annie helped to move the co-working space into its new home at Sydney Startup Hub – the largest startup community hub in the Southern Hemisphere.Prior to Fishburners, Annie co-founded muru-D – a startup accelerator program based out of Australia and Singapore, funded by Australia’s largest telco operator Telstra.  She led the team to set up 5 different accelerators across the region, muru-D has now invested in 100+ companies with around 40 companies joining the network every year.
     
    A firm believer in the concept of paying it forward Annie has spent a substantial proportion of her time supporting growth across the entire startup ecosystem.  In 2014 she co-founded and continues to Chair Code Club Australia, a charity helping to teach primary school kids coding through after school clubs.  This network of clubs is now stands at 2,000 with over 65,000 kids in Australia having been educated for free.
     
    Annie also co-founded Techfugees Australia a global movement connecting the technology ecosystem together with newly arrived refugees in Australia to help solve some of the problems they face.  Through Techfugees, companies have been created, jobs found and most importantly lives changed for the better.Prior to moving to Australia, Annie was Head of Operations for Wayra, Telefonica’s startup accelerator program.  Her role covered the set up and operations of 7 accelerator hubs in Europe, including everything from investing in the startups right through to designing the programmatic content of the accelerators.Passionate about diversity and inclusion, and helping wherever she can, Annie is a very active angel investor and mentor and loves helping founders achieve their full potential.
